I haven’t updated this blog in a long time, and while my fitness goals and workout regime hasn’t changed (much; 1 hour a day, 5 days a week of extreme exercise), my eating habits and mindset on food has (making some of this post kind of obsolete; the example part where I start listing off how I eat). I’ll cut to the short of it:
I eat for optimum health knowing that food is the ultimate medicine; concentrating on foods that have the highest nutrients per calorie, and making those sorts of foods (non-starchy vegetables, fruits, and beans) the majority of my caloric intake. I am a nutritarian.
My diet is a lifestyle choice outlined in the book Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Having tried different diets and ways of eating (3 meals a day, 5 meals a day, intermittent fasting, increasing my caloric intake, lowering my caloric intake, eating meat, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) I can say that, without a shadow of a doubt, eating the Eat to Live way is THE way to eat. I highly, highly recommend this diet to anyone and everyone. It is an extreme view with extreme changes that offer extreme and radically amazing results; and if you stick with it, for the rest of your life, you will never have to count another calorie, worry about your weight, or worry about your health. If you are sick and have chronic disease (which most people do: high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, overweight/obese, heart attack prone, etc.) then Eat to Live is a MUST read for you and your family.
You are the only one that is in charge of your health. You are the only one to blame or to thank for your current health state. Take a stand, break away from the norm, and Eat to Live!
